At the CLC 2023 congress Prof. Thomas Wimmer will present a plenary lecture.
Personal Background and Education:
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Wimmer was born in 1959 and grew up in Hamburg. After his Engineering Studies at the University Hannover he received a PhD from Technical University Berlin in 1988. From 1984 to 1997 he gained experience in the field of supply chain management working at BMW in Dingolfing, Sauer-Sundstrand in Neumuenster and Bremer Vulkan Shipyard.
Professional Interests and Other Activities:
In 1997 Prof. Wimmer became a partner at Proventus Consulting. Since 1999 he is working for BVL International in Bremen, first as Member of the Executive Board and since 2004 as Chairman of the Executive Board. Since March 2020 he is elected Chairman of the BVL Board. Next to his occupational activity Wimmer is a lecturer at the University of Bremen teaching procurement logistics, manufacturing logistics and contract logistics. In 2009 he received a honorary professorship at the University Bremen. Since 2018 Wimmer is also Chairman of the Board of MX Manufacturing Excellence Network.
